We were commissioned by ATYP in Brighton to bring this tactile paper world to life for Droga 5 and Toyota.

The film runs on the Toyota Mirai website and acts as a quick history lesson on innovations in transport, leading up to the reveal that hydrogen cars are no longer a pipe dream but now a reality.

Under ATYP’s creative direction, our task was to create a beautiful and realistic paper world, showing a variety of old transportation methods and seamlessly transitioning between scenes. To give the world depth and volume we created cloud simulations, smoke and steam for the train, and highly detailed textures for the paper surfaces. The animation went through a few iterations as we established a style that felt in keeping with the visuals.
